Town Hall
The current Town Hall building was constructed in 1778, after the former council building was destroyed by fire on 1 January 1761.
The project was designed by the royal architect Ventura Rodríguez. The style is closer to Baroque classicism than to Neoclassicism.
Inside, the staircase and main hall are especially beautiful. In the main hall there is a valuable Baroque crucifix made of ivory, with a tortoiseshell cross and silver openwork finials.
This place forms part of the cultural heritage that makes Toro one of the most interesting destinations in Zamora for a monumental, wine-focused and gastronomic getaway.
