Church of San Sebastián de los Caballeros
This church was a parish at least from the 13th century until the end of the 19th century. It stands in Plaza de la Paja, one of the open commercial spaces around the first walled enclosure.
At the beginning of the 16th century, when the building was in ruins, Fray Diego de Deza rebuilt it at his own expense in 1516.
It has a rectangular plan, a single nave and a main chapel. Today it is a museum of Gothic painting, housing mural paintings from the Monastery of Santa Clara.
This place forms part of the cultural heritage that makes Toro one of the most interesting destinations in Zamora for a monumental, wine-focused and gastronomic getaway.
